Tener en la pantalla a una protagonista gorda, torpe y urgida de amor y sexo fue una apuesta arriesgada que contrastó con el mar de protagonistas de comedias románticas llenas de conflictos personales, tiernas, inocentes y puras con cero grasa y celulitis en su cuerpo. Claro, el valiente que dijo, “pues no, las viejas normales no son así”, asumió un riesgo, y sí que la sacó del estadio.
Es que todas somos bridgets, aunque cueste aceptarlo. Somos torpes e imprudentes, en mayor o menor escala; tenemos familias disfuncionales y amigos desocupados que se pasan los días dándonos consejos extraños. También soñamos con un hombrecito delicioso, exitoso, fiel y tierno, aunque preferimos comernos a los fantoches churrísimos que pasan sus días de falda en falda. Todas somos Bridget.
Estas películas, basadas en un libro que se vendió muy bien, están repletas de escenas hilarantes y están llenas de frases y situaciones célebres. ¿Quién no ha dicho en algún momento de su vida, “resolución número uno: perder diez kilos. Yo, por lo menos, he querido esto unas cien veces, y suelen ser las uvas número dos y tres que me he comido en los últimos diez 31 de diciembre (el deseo de la número uno me lo reservo).
Lo mejor es su final. A pesar de sus defectos y estupideces, Bridget se queda con un Mark Darcy. Si ella puede yo también. ¿No es un gran mensaje que nos llena de optimismo y felicidad?
